Uniplex™ 670P is a polyester resin in butyl acetate used in fingernail enamels. It imparts excellent adhesion, wear and water-resistant properties.
General Properties and Applications
Uniplex™ 670P provides softening of film forming resins to provide flexibility and toughness. Films of Uniplex™ 670P show mild adhesion properties, capable of improving adhesion to porous fingernails in nail polish formulations. The material is sold in butyl acetate. This functions as a carrier of the polyester acid resin and as drying solvent of lacquer finished formulation.
The formulations incorporating Uniplex™ 670P, consist of typical ‘fast-drying compositions. These compositions contain various amounts of Uniplex™ 670P, but typical loading levels of this component are 0-10%, with loading levels as high as 15%. On most basic level film former nitrocellulose, is plasticized with resin, with use of colorant or dye to make nail polish. Uniplex™ 670P does not contain Formaldehyde, Toluene, or Xylene.
