Uniplex™ 552 is a solid polymer additive used in heat activated adhesives. It is approved by FDA 21 CFR 175.105. Uniplex™ 552 is recommended for use in applications requiring higher heat activation temperatures than that which can be obtained with Uniplex™ 250 and Uniplex™ 260.
General Properties
Uniplex™ 552 is a high melting solid polymer additive used in heat-activated adhesives. This solid tetrabenzoate material is compatible with a large number of resins and polymers including but not limited to acrylates, cellulosic esters, polyesters, PVC, polyetherimide, polyphenylene ether, polyolefins such as poly (1-butene/polyethylene), polymethyl styrene, polycarbonate, and diene-based elastomers.
Applications
Uniplex™ 552 is used predominately as a plasticizer in heat activate adhesives as well as the following:
- adhesives: heat activated; structural 2-component acrylic based
- plasticizer in nail polish enamel
- printing inks; spherulite size reduction
- solder flux
- tire manufacture; tear reduction formulations
