Paraplex® FR-1836P is a bromine-based polymeric flame retardant containing 18% by weight bromine. By integrating plasticizer functionality with flame retardancy, this additive optimizes the efficiency of bromine molecules, thereby enhancing the gas phase flame retardant mechanism. This innovative chemistry circumvents the regulatory issues associated with monomeric halogens by incorporating small molecules of concern into larger, less hazardous copolymers.
